Garment exporter's showroom

The client being one of the largest exporters of knitted garments in India, & owing to their reputation and standing in the market they needed a space that would act as an in- house showroom for their international clients. They desired a comfortable atmosphere since their work involved long hours and at any given time over 2000 of their designs had to be displayed, with proper lighting, to highlight the garments to their best. A discussion table was required to discuss the possible combination with the clients : As per requirements the display units were designed, so that once opened there would be a large expance of open display. The passage and the entrance lobby were created with stain glass with the figure of a reclining lady, the focal point is a male mannequin to display clothes. The flooring done in synthetic marble also reflects the importance of the elaborate design, & to demarcate areas without forming physical boundaries between them. The flooring under the informal/ dining table has been done in parquet so as to define the area clearly,
a light above reflects the flooring pattern. The woodwork used in this interior has been given a dull polish to avoid distracting the client.Thediscussion table in glossy Burl veneer finish has been designed to give maximum comfort. The ceiling above the table is constructed like a ribbed dome emphasised by a reflected fluorescent light. The other lighting is done in diffused yellow lights so as to give the buyers the ambience of natural light to help them evaluate the colours of the fabric. On the whole the lighting effect is soft and underplayed.
